Virtual Lecture 10/26/21: Stars - The Ultimate Laboratory for Modern Physics

If you’re not familiar yet with KITP, the perfect opportunity to get acquainted is coming. The world renowned Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics is hosting its 80th public lecture virtually and you’re invited!

Pour your favorite beverage, grab some snacks, and Zoom in for a live, intellectually stimulating talk and Q&A on how the last 100 years of astronomy have advanced modern physics, and how recent advances in stellar seismology and high-performance computing are guiding the field toward future discoveries. I have no idea what stellar seismology is. I can only guess… Star quakes? Solar turbulence? I can’t wait to find out!

If you’re not a scientist, don’t be intimidated. It doesn’t get more casual than a virtual talk with your camera off. No one else will know if you don’t know what something means, and you might surprise yourself by understanding more than you think you will.

All you need is curiosity. I hope you’ll join me!
